The mid-week run was tough. For starters, my pre-run snack was a fistful of Oreos (yay! Kid food!). After we were given our routes, the guy running the group told us that a woman died while running on the main street of our routes the night before. The street I drive on every day. She had a heart attack or something health-related. How awful, though. So the run started out somber. At least, I felt somber and grateful for the opportunity to run.
3 minutes into the run, at the first intersection that turned on this main road where this woman died, AT RUSH HOUR, forty or so people running ahead of me started to cross before the intersection on the side of the street where there isn't even a crosswalk. This arc of people ran in front of cars, several narrowly dodging getting hit. You people make drivers hate runners. And, P.S.: you don't "win" training runs!!
Anyway, I wasn't feeling the run. I always read and reread the route maps and somehow went the wrong way, adding at least .5 to my run.
The highlight, however, was passing my in-laws' house and seeing everyone outside cheering me on. MIL, BIL, FIL, O, Bug and Bee. It was pretty rad! I could hear Bug saying "Mamma!!" all the way down the street.
When I returned, Bug asked me about my run.
4.68 in 45:08.
I have no idea about my mile splits because I forgot my Garmin at home.
After my run, I tried Banananuun! It is actually really good. The banana flavor is so light, you could have told me it was piña colada and I would have believed you. O even liked it, and he is pretty particular. So, check it out!
Also, $365 has been raised so far for RunMS! That's 73% of the $500 goal! Another $10 will make it 75%!! Anyone? Anyone? Don't forget, if you donate $10 or more and put "baby art" in the comment section of the donation form, you get a hand-painted/drawn postcard from Bug and Bee!! Follow the link below!!

In high school, I saw two girls get hit by a car [they survived]. It was by far the most traumatic thing I've seen in my life. People need to realize cars won't stop for them. Ughhh :(
ReplyDeleteCongrats on $365! Go go Casey!
